We are looking for a committed person with a proven track record in practice and theory and a university degree in urban planning, urban design or architecture. The ability to work scientifically in the specialist field, pedagogical competence and aptitude as well as the ability to work in a team are required. Particular expertise is expected in the design of spaces and processes at different scales, at the interface of urban planning and building typology. Experience in innovative housing development and dealing with the existing building stock is desirable. In addition to planning and design, methodological and instrumental skills, social and community aspects as well as participation and activation processes must also be taught.

The post holder with extensive professional experience should represent the subject area of “Urban Design and Building Typology” in all teaching units of the department, particularly in teaching and research in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs “Architecture” and “Urban Planning” as well as “Environmental Management and Urban Planning in Metropolitan Areas”.

Your tasks:

• Teaching in the basic courses of urban planning, urban design and building science.
• Supervision of design and final theses in the above-mentioned degree programs.
• Teaching in in-depth, theory-related elective subjects.
• Ability to teach in German and English.
