YOUR TASKS

The Learning and Cognitive Control Lab at Ghent University (Belgium) is recruiting a highly motivated scientific researcher to analyze two existing functional magnetic resonance imaging data sets related to task switching and reward processing. The position is funded by a European Research Council Advanced Grant, “Cracking the Anterior Cingulate Cortex Code: Toward a Unified Theory of ACC Function.”

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You must have a Masters degree or higher in Neuroscience,Cognitive Psychology or a related discipline.
  • You must have excellent programming skills in the Python, Matlab, and R programming languages.
  • You must be able to quickly understand and adapt existing programming code.
  • You must have expertise using SPM12 for functional magnetic resonance imaging analysis (preprocessing, GLM, second level tests, etc).
  • You must have expertise using the Decoding Toolbox for classification analysis and the RSA Toolbox for representational similarity analysis.
  • You must have advanced knowledge of statistics.
  • You must have excellent English writing skills and a demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • You must have a deep understanding of the subjects of cognitive control, anterior cingulate cortex, task switching and reward processing.
  • You must demonstrate evidence of collaboration in a team environment.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a four month contract starting March 1, 2025.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).  Click here for more information about our salary scales.
