Description of the research group

We are looking for a Research Assistant to work in Maria Genander’s research group. More information about the Genander lab can be found here: http://ki.se/en/cmb/maria-genanders-group.

The Genander lab is interested in understanding development and maintenance of epithelial tissues and how alterations in stem and progenitor cells during homeostasis lead to disease. The advertised position is dedicated to characterizing and optimizing human esophageal organoid cultures from patient resection material. You will work closely together with, and learn from, a senior postdoctoral associate.

Your mission

The current position will be focused on comparing in vivo and organoid progenitor states in the human esophagus. You will compare progenitor states in organoids grown in different culture conditions, using IF and single-cell sequencing. In addition, you will work towards modelling eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in human organoids.

Your profile

We seek a curious, highly motivated and creative person with a master’s degree. Applicants with experience in one or more of the following fields are encouraged to apply:

  • - Organoid culture
  • - Flow cytometry
  • - Microscopy
  • - Bioinformatics analysis

Previous publications are considered a benefit. The working language in the Genander lab is English.
