The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. For the Catalytic Process Engineering group within the Laboratory for Sustainable Energy Carriers and Processes together with Energy System Integration Platform we are looking for a

Postdoctoral Fellow

Your tasks

  • You perform data acquisition using micro-GC, GC-FID, and GC-MS instruments on novel processes for sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) samples; data evaluation and interpretation in the context of pilot plant operations are part of your work
  • You will help understand catalyst activity, deactivation, and regeneration
  • You will publish the relevant results in leading scientific journals
  • Support work package leader in organizational and coordinational tasks
  • You perform method development for GC-based analytics
  • You report the analytical results in a clean and concise manner
  • Occasionally, you work in shift operation (up to 20% of the working hours)

Your profile

  • You hold a university / ETHZ PhD degree or university of applied science degree focusing on analytics of small organic molecules (e.g. metabolomics, environmental science, drug development) and have long-term experience
  • You have hands-on experience using micro-GC, GC-FID, and GC-MS instruments
  • You have sound skills in organization and coordination
  • You are fluent in English and at least advanced in German
