YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support for managing parts of the power electronics laboratory infrastructure:
    • Electronics CAD library management (symbols, footprint and 3D model database).
    • Maintenance of laboratory equipment and responsible for managing electronic stock parts.
    • Laboratory logistics support, managing and installing new equipment.
  • Support scientists and students in research projects focusing on power electronic systems for various applications with:
    • Preparation and execution of component and material orders.
    • Contact with suppliers and distributors for electronic components.
    • Being central contact person for students and scientists for processing orders.
    • Assistance for administrative tasks e.g. documentation of research projects, laboratory setups and measurement series; documentation support of meetings…
  • Depending on your knowledge, experience and interests, part of the following activities can be additionally expected:
    • Electrical and mechanical engineering tasks (SMD soldering, manual soldering, preparing cables and connectors)
    • Assembly of electronic circuits and laboratory setups.
    • Possibility of contributing to publications in worldwide leading conferences and journals.
    • Attending workshops and/or tutorials.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Higher technical college (3,5 or 5 years HTL) or completed technical apprenticeship, or enrolled student.
  • Hands-on skills in at least one of the following fields are preferred: 
    • PCB design tools, e.g., Altium Designer, EAGLE, KiCAD
    • Programming languages, e.g. C/C++, Python, Java
    • Microcontroller programming
    • Laboratory skills for electronic system prototyping and test with e.g. oscilloscopes, supplies
  • Highly enthusiastic and motivated working aside researchers activities and assist research around newest cutting-edge technologies for power electronics and e-mobility applications.
  • Willing to learn new skills and ready to take on challenges and responsibilities.
  • Flexible and respectful team player.
  • Teamwork spirit for joining a dynamic team.
  • English, both written and spoken.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group C. We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications. For this position, your minimum monthly gross salary starts with EUR 2.681, paid 14 times a year.
