YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a motivated individual to join a research project in collaboration with an established industrial partner. This exciting opportunity aims at exploring the potential of integrated photonics in wide-bandgap materials. You will engage in the whole development cycle of photonic integrated components and circuits, focusing on fabrication and characterization.

Your future responsibilities include:

  • Development/optimization of fabrication processes dedicated to integrated photonics 
    • Integrated photonics components lithography 
      • Based on Electron Beam Lithography 
    • Reactive Ion Etching and Ion Beam Etching of wide-bandgap materials 
    • Silicon oxide and nitride Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition 
    • Process characterization with SEM, microscope, profilometer 
  • Efficient reporting of process results 
  • Support unit members with integrated photonics development related tasks 

The selected candidate will receive dedicated trainings for each of the tools involved in the designed process. 

YOUR PROFILE

  • You hold a master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Micro-Electronics, Integrated Photonics), Physics or Chemistry.  
  • Up to 5 years of relevant experience required. 
  • You have studied or worked in the field of microfabrication. 
  • You can clearly communicate and share the results of your work (use of basic Windows Office tools required). 
  • You are a fluent English speaker. 
  • Preferred skills: 
    • Basic knowledge of integrated photonics 
    • Previous experience in cleanroom facilities with microfabrication capabilities 
  • Goal and deadline oriented 
  • Highly mitivated and team player with good communication skills

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E. We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications. For this position, your minimum monthly salary starts with EUR 3.827, paid 14 times a year.
