The ERA CHAIR OF EMERGING NEXT-GENERATION PHOTOVOLTAICS (5GSOLAR)- European Commission (REA), Project 952509-5GSOLAR-H2020-WIDSPREAD-2018-2020/WIDESPREAD-2018-2020-6)- is recruiting ERA Chair Holder in the Department of Materials and Environmental Technology, Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia.
The ERA Chair Holder aims to bring complementary knowledge to the existing core team in the Laboratory of Thin Film Chemical Technologies, and thereby enhance scientific excellence, increase visibility and attractiveness, and to bridge the gap between research and technology transfer.
The ERA Chair Holder will need to be an outstanding knowledge builder and manager in the field of photovoltaics, with a proven record of effective leadership. S/he will have a position as a professor that will allow her/him to formulate a strategic program for the new 5GSOLAR, make appropriate resource allocation decisions, supervise team members and freely apply for R&D&I funding, in order to increase the research excellence of the institution, and sustainability of the ERA Chair.

Department of Materials and Environmental Technology
The strength of the department is internationally distinguished scientific research in the area of material science and environmental technology. The main research areas of the department are related but not limited to chemistry, physics, and materials technology and the development of new sustainable technologies for the preparation of materials as well as the environmental application of novel technologies.
The European Research Area (ERA) Chair Holder on Emerging Next-Generation Photovoltaics, 5GSOLAR will support research and development activities managed by the Laboratory of Thin Film Chemical Technologies in the Department of Materials and Environmental Technology. The existing core team has unique expertise in the field of semiconductor thin film deposition by industrially applicable methods, in the development of emerging next generation solar cells. The research group is part of the Center of Excellence in Science "Innovative Materials and Advanced Technology for Energy Storage and Transformation Systems".
