The European University for Well-Being (EUniWell; www.euniwell.eu) is a European University Alliance which is coordinated by the University of Cologne and funded by the EU under ERASMUS+ since 2020. Our aim is to actively promote the well-being of individuals, societies, and the environment through excellent research and teaching, innovation, transfer and social engagement. The University of Cologne is seeking an experienced and dedicated Digital Credentialing and Learning Management System Expert for EUniWell who can support the university and the EUniWell alliance in implementing a digital European University.

YOUR TASKS

  • Coordinating the development of a digital credentialing service (micro-credentials)
  • Facilitating the development of an Open Badge extension for ILIAS (also with external developers)
  • Coordination and communication with relevant stakeholders within EUniWell and the ILIAS Community
  • Supporting the change management process
  • Supporting the implementation of the ‘European Approach to Micro-Credentials’
  • Supporting and advising users regarding digital credentials and the related service
  • Supporting the integration of the service with partner universities’ existing infrastructures
  • Facilitating trainings related to the digital credentialing solution and related services

YOUR PROFILE
The following is a list of desired qualifications; if you only meet some of these criteria, you can still apply:

  • University Master’s degree (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of professional experience in educational technology or a similar related field
  • Experience in IT project management and IT change management
  • Experience in IT support (management)
  • Basic knowledge of (higher education) didactics
  • Knowledge of and experience with digital credentialing/ micro-credentialing
  • Knowledge of relevant technical standards (e.g., Open Badges, Blockcerts, European Digital Credentials)
  • Experience in LMS development (preferably ILIAS)
  • Experience with modern software development (e.g. PHP, JavaScript, SQL, CSS, APIs, Git, DevOps)
  • Experience with coordinating and integrating IT infrastructure
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory frameworks regarding data protection and information security (e.g. GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001)
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English as well as skills in intercultural communication
  • Relevant certifications are an asset

The position is available immediately on a part-time basis (19,92 hours per week). The position is to be filled for a fixed term until 31.10.2027. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary will be based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
