Tietoja työnantajasta

Euro-BioImaging is the European landmark research infrastructure for biological and biomedical imaging as recognized by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI). Through Euro-BioImaging, life scientists can access imaging instruments, expertise, training opportunities, and data management services that they might not find at their home institutions or among their collaboration partners. All scientists, regardless of their affiliation, area of expertise or field of activity can benefit from these pan-European open-access services, which are provided with high-quality standards by leading imaging facilities.

The fully distributed infrastructure of Euro-BioImaging is coordinated by a Hub and offers its services via 35 internationally renowned imaging facilities called Nodes, which are located across 16 countries and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, EMBL. The Euro-BioImaging Hub consists of Finland (Turku) as the headquarters, EMBL as the community-specific section for biological imaging, and Italy (Torino) as the community-specific section for biomedical imaging. By facilitating user access to high-quality imaging facilities, resources, and services, Euro-BioImaging will boost the productivity and impact of research across Europe.

Euro-BioImaging Mission

  • To provide access, services and training to state-of-the-art imaging technologies for all life scientists in Europe and beyond
  • To foster the liaison and cooperation of all its stakeholders (including scientists, industry, national and European authorities)

Governance

Euro-BioImaging is managed by its Hub and governed by the Euro-BioImaging Board. Euro-BioImaging ERIC’s governance also includes a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), whose role is to oversee the scientific, ethical, technical, and management quality of the Euro-BioImaging ERIC activities. In addition, the Panel of Nodes, made up of Node representatives, advises the Euro-BioImaging Directorate in relation to Euro-BioImaging activities. Finally, the Euro-BioImaging Industry Board Advisory Panel provides advice to the Euro-BioImaging Directorate on any industry-relevant needs or initiatives that Euro-BioImaging should address.
