Introduction

Join TU/e as the program manager for our Quantum Hub and shape the future of quantum technology in the Brainport region. You will be part of the operational team of the Eindhoven Quantum Hub, be a content-driven leader, and connect researchers, industry, and public partners, and drive collaboration within a dynamic national ecosystem. You will steer and build a thriving community at the forefront of innovation and help to enable and guide large-scale funding programs.

Job Description

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the Center for Quantum Materials and Technology (QT/e) and the Casimir Institute are looking for a Program Manager Quantum for our QDNL Brainport Eindhoven ecosystem. This role is at the heart of one of the five regional innovation hubs of QDNL, which aims to accelerate the development of quantum technologies for applications such as quantum computing, quantum secure communication, and quantum sensing applications.

As quantum program manager, you will be supporting a growing and active quantum community in the Brainport region. Operating between QT/e and the Casimir Institute, you are part of the operational Hub team of quantum hub coordinator, business developers, communication and project officers. You will work closely with TU/e researchers across departments and institutes, Brainport Development, BOM, and other partners to grow and energize the local ecosystem.

You will support the Foundational Technologies Domain of the Casimir institute, that includes the research topics Quantum & Novel Computing Paradigms; AI for Robotics and Control; Mathematical Foundations; and Software, Security and systems. You will play an active role in supporting and contributing to the management of the quantum center QT/e, which coordinates the National Growth Fund programs in quantum technology, including the Hub program for QDNL Brainport Eindhoven. In this position, you will be ideally placed to help accelerate the development of quantum technologies within the region, while fostering strong connections across the Eindhoven ecosystem - from academic and institutional partners to industry. You will contribute to strengthening collaborations and nurturing a vibrant, integrated community that drives innovation and impact.

You will take a leadership and supporting role in QDNL Brainport Eindhoven’s large-scale current and future funding programs. These large-scale programs focus on long-term trajectories (longer than five years) at both the national and international level, with a clear ambition to scale up the Hub activities and partnerships internationally. You will support the Hub team in coordinating hub activities and large-scale program support, events, engaging stakeholders, expanding the network of partners and increasing collaborations with industry, and ensuring smooth operations.

You will take both a leading and supporting role in identifying, articulating, coordinating the scientific challenges of the Eindhoven Hub, and positioning the region as a strong and visible contributor to QDNL’s ambitious Challenge-Based Program. As part of the next phase of the National Growth Fund (NGF), this program will drive innovation through mission-driven collaboration between researchers, industry partners, and end‑users. You will oversee the preparation and submission of Eindhoven’s challenge-based proposals, ensuring coherence across disciplines, strong stakeholder engagement, and high-quality program design.

Together with your Hub team, you will gather input from the local research and innovation community, map capabilities and ambitions, and take the initiative to build strong, balanced consortia. You will have an active role in establishing and managing a dedicated support structure for large-scale programs such as the NGF Quantum Technology initiatives, future national funding rounds (including potential Quantum Valley programs), and major European opportunities such as the Quantum Flagship, EuroQCI, EuroHPC, quantum pilot lines in Chips JU, and the upcoming EU Quantum Act. In this role, you will be a key enabler of strategic collaboration and long-term programmatic growth for the Brainport quantum ecosystem.

The Research Support Office (RSO) is the central Research Support Office of TU/e and consists of a close-knit team of professionals who support the scientific staff in applying for European and national grants for research. The RSO team further consists of research funding advisors, grant consultants, corporate lawyers, and project managers.

As Institute Program Manager Quantum at Casimir, you will be embedded in the RSO and from there be allocated to work for the Casimir institute. You will become part of a larger team of Institute Program Managers and Research Support staff for other TU/e institutes. This allows knowledge exchange and team building with colleagues with a similar role, albeit for a different TU/e institute.
