Job Description:

In the Service Group for Center for Labelling and Isotope Production (CLIP) TU Wien is offering a position as senior scientist (all genders) for 40 hours/week. Expected start: June 2026.

Tasks

  • Independent research work in radiochemistry, specifically in actinide-, organometal- and separation chemistry
  • Participation in current research at the Center for Labelling and Isotope Production
  • Implementation and supervision of chemical syntheses and analyses, including assement of potential dangers in the work with toxic or reactive substances
  • Communication with competent authorities, including the implementation of resulting legal requirements in cooperation with reactor operations and radiation protection
  • Independent teaching of courses and holding of examinations as well as supervision of students
  • The ability to develop methods, concepts, as well as their realization and evaluation and the willingness to manage projects or working groups

Your profile:

  • Completion of an appropriate doctorate in the field of chemistry or physics or equivalent university studies at home or abroad
  • Knowledge of scientific work as well as excellent specialist knowledge in radiochemistry and in-depth knowledge of the subject area
  • Knowledge in anorganic and radioanalytic chemistry are a crucial advantage
  • Experience in sample preparation and handling for the production of reactor isotopes are advantageous
  • Broad and international experience in one of the central scientific topics as well as in the application and implementation of third-party funding projects are considered to be an advantage
  • Interdisciplinary work
  • Experience in teaching and publication activities as well as interest and pleasure in research and work/support with students
  • Organisational and analytical skills as well as a structured way of working
  • Excellent knowledge of German (language of instruction), very good knowledge of English

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 5,014.30/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week.
