Your Responsibilities

  • Independent conducting of courses (average 6 semester hours per week) in the area of Spanish didactics for Bachelor’s and Master’s students (Programme for Teacher Education for Secondary Schools (General Education))
  • Participation in teaching and examination duties of the department
  • Participation in the development of new university teaching methods and courses, and, if applicable, new curricula
  • Providing guidance to students, academic advising, and coordinating student mobility
  • Independent research and publication activity
  • Participation in research activities of the Department of Romance Studies in the field of subject didactics (conferences, publications, externally funded projects)
  • Participation in organisational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures and activities related to the public representation of the department (e.g., communication with local, regional, and national educational institutions), as well as involvement in academic self-administration (e.g., participation in committees).
  • Attending internal and external professional development courses

Your Profile

  • Above-average completion of a Master's degree in Secondary General Education (Teaching) with a specialization in Spanish, preferably with a Master's thesis in the field of subject didactics
  • Teaching experience at the university level in Spanish subject didactics (desirable)
  • Teaching experience in Spanish at the secondary level (desirable)
  • Excellent knowledge of contemporary foreign language teaching methodologies
  • Spanish language proficiency at CEFR level C2 or as a native speaker (L1)
  • Very good proficiency in German (spoken and written, CEFR B2) and at least good proficiency in English (spoken and written, CEFR B1/B2).
  • Current research activity and willingness to publish
  • Experience in organising and conducting academic events (desirable)
  • Very good IT skills and a keen interest in utilising digital tools in virtual education
  • Independence, reliability, creativity and enjoyment of scientific collaboration
  • Initiative and active involvement in teaching, research, and administrative duties
  • Social skills, excellent ability to work in a team, and strong organisational skills
  • Willingness to participate in further training measures of the university

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.865,40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
