Your Responsibilities

  • Writing a relevant dissertation in the field of biochemistry
  • Independent research in the field of glucose and lipid metabolism, cell biology, and tumor biology in higher eukaryotic models within the research group of Univ. Prof. Dr. Martina Schweiger
  • Collaboration with established research groups and “Core Facilities” at the Institute of Molecular Biosciences
  • Participation in teaching in the areas of biochemistry and cell biology, as well as supervision of students
  • Involvement in organizational and administrative tasks, as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed Master’s degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or biology
  • Knowledge in the field of skeletal muscle, adipose tissue, or tumor metabolism research
  • Practical experience with cell and molecular biology methods, as well as working with mice as model organisms (FELASA B certificate or equivalent)
  • Experience in the analysis of gene expression data and/or omics datasets, including the use of R or comparable software, is desirable
  • Teaching experience in biochemistry or molecular biology (desirable)
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly
  • Team spirit, reliability, and high motivation to address scientific questions in the field of molecular metabolism using an interdisciplinary research approach
  • Enjoyment of teaching and supervising students

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.865,40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
