The Department of Economics and Management of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is looking for a for a Post-doctoral candidate to contribute to the Horizon Europe project RE-SPHERE- SHARED PLACES FOR HERITAGE, ENCOUNTER AND RECONCILIATION IN EUROPE. The successful candidate will be working with Professor Skerdilajda Zanaj.

Your role

  • Supporting empirical research on the socioeconomic impact of Shared Holy Places (SHPs) on peacebuilding, social cohesion, and sustainable recovery in post-conflict regions
  • Collecting, managing, and analysing socioeconomic and geo-referenced datasets using quantitative and econometric methods
  • Contributing to longitudinal survey analysis, policy evaluation, and the preparation of project deliverables

Your profile

  • PhD in Economics, preferably with a specialization in Political Economy. Applications from PhD candidates who will have started their final year of doctoral studies before that date may be considered
  • Strong interest in labour economics, public economics, migration, education, gender, regional development, or related socio-economic issues
  • Proven ability to autonomously conduct research at a post-doctoral level
  • Proven ability to conduct high-quality independent research and contribute to collaborative research projects
  • Proven ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Solid quantitative and empirical research skills, including experience with econometric methods and statistical software
  • Experience in presenting research findings at academic conferences and/or publishing in peer-reviewed outlets
  • Strong IT and data-analysis skills
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in English is requird. Good understanding of a second language and possibly a third language, will be considered an advantage
