We are proud to announce the Epigenetics Across Borders: International Helmholtz-Edinburgh Research School for Epigenetics or 'EpiCrossBorders'. To provide future scientific leaders Epigenetics with the best training, the research excellence of Helmholtz Epigenetics@HMGU community and from the Edinburgh University, Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell Biology, MRC Human Genetics Unit and Centre for Regenerative Medicine launched their collaborative PhD training program in EpiCrossBorders:

The EpiCrossBorders Research School Program is a truly international and interdisciplinary PhD program centered on epigenetics research at Helmholtz Zentrum München HMGU, in Munich, Germany and the Edinburgh University in Edinburgh, UK. The Program provides an optimal research and training environment for graduate students to conduct their PhD research in the field of epigenetics. EpiCrossBorders trains highly talented early-career to investigate epigenetic mechanisms in an innovative, quantitative and multidisciplinary manner. Research excellence within the host teams of both research hubs, is complemented with a dedicated training and exchange program and support structure, creating an environment in which academically and technically gifted individuals can excel to achieve their professional goals and develop their future career.

Graduate Projects in the EpiCrossBorders Program are true international collaborations between labs in Munich and Edinburgh centered on the 'One Health' approach of the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition the Graduate Projects are designed to contribute to one or more of our five central themes:

The next call to join the EpiCrossBorders Program at the Helmholtz Zentrum München for fully funded PhD positions is now open, with deadline for submissions on October 15th 2021.
