Tietoja työnantajasta

Created just a few years ago from the amalgamation of two 200 year-old schools, the Geneva University of Art and Design (Haute école d’art et de design) or HEAD – Geneva, is already establishing itself as a new urban school of art on the international stage. It offers training at Bachelors and Masters levels in fine arts, cinema, interior architecture, visual communication, fashion and accessory design, spaces and communication, and media design. HEAD – Geneva was created in 2006 from the amalgamation of the School of Fine Arts (Ecole supérieure des beaux-arts) and the School of Applied Arts (Haute école d’arts appliqués), which date back to the 18th century. In constant dialogue with the arts scene and the regional economy, the students, professors, artists and outside contributors, from Switzerland and the four corners of the continent, give the school an urban and international atmosphere. Although HEAD – Geneva is still in its early days and is in constant evolution, it has already established itself as one of the finest schools of art and design in Europe. HEAD – Geneva offers a broad choice of courses at Bachelors level (fine arts, cinema, interior architecture, visual communication, fashion and accessory design) and 7 Masters programmes (fine arts, cinema, fashion and accessory design, spaces and communication, media design). Students participate in projects through workshops, classes, seminars and commissioned work in close collaboration with the professional worlds of art, cinema and design. Workshops led by international guest designers, artists and directors contribute to the dynamic nature of a teaching environment designed as a space for freedom and for personal and social responsibility. Diverse aesthetic practices, based on research and experimentation, and the employment of significant technical, traditional and innovative means, are combined with theoretical teaching, which aims to complete the acquisition of knowledge as much as to serve the exercise of diverse intellectual reflection. Practical and intellectual know-how are the two pillars of an education that rejects all dogmatism to favour a critical understanding of the contemporary world. In tune with today’s cultural, social and professional environments, the teaching at HEAD – Geneva favours close dialogue between teachers and students, who are considered to be the real agents of their own creative journey.
