Equipment and facilities of the institute

The institute houses newly renovated laboratories, a lecture hall, a room for practicals, a large library and a computing centre.
Aquaria rooms are available which allow simulation of different seasons. External basins and enclosures in the lakes closeby allow the conduction of ecological experiments under defined conditions.
There is also a facility to keep wild mice colonies and an experimental facility to do population ecological experiments with wild mice.

The major equipment includes a microscope- and immunology-setup to study parasites, various machines for genomic analyses, including microarrays and high-throughput sequencing, as well as a micro-CT scanner for small animals.
