About the employer

After celebrating its tricentenary, the University of Burgundy has embarked on a new chapter in its history, becoming Université Bourgogne Europe from January 1st 2025.

Alongside 11 institutions of higher education and research in Burgundy Franche-Comté (ENSA and ESM as component establishments, BSB, ESTP, ESEO, CESI, ESAAB in Nevers, CHU, CGFL as associate establishments, as well as the Science Po campus in Dijon and the CROUS BFC as partner establishments), Université Bourgogne Europe is leading an ambitious, unifying project to meet the societal and territorial challenges of today and tomorrow.

A multi-disciplinary university, the Université Bourgogne Europe offers 400 courses and is supported by 28 research laboratories, exploring themes ranging from archaeology to artificial intelligence and health sciences.

Optimistic, resilient, forward-looking and open to the world, Université Bourgogne Europe contributes fully to the evolution and transition of its regions, with a training and research strategy based on four pillars:

  • Technological transitions, intelligent and sustainable materials
  • Earth, Environment, Food and Climate
  • Systemic and integrated approach to health
  • Arts, Culture and Humanities in Society

As a European university through its membership in the FORTHEM alliance, the Université Bourgogne Europe aims to become a fully-fledged European campus. Students, administrative staff, researchers and teacher-researchers have the opportunity to train and work at the 8 partner universities (Mainz in Germany, Valencia in Spain, Palermo in Italy, Jyväskylä in Finland, Agder in Norway, Opole in Poland, Riga in Lithuania, and Sibu in Romania). A wide range of exchange and collaboration schemes are available to the entire university community.

As a local university, the Université Bourgogne Europe is also rooted in the various regions of the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region, with its 6 campuses (Auxerre, Chalon-sur-Saône, Dijon, le Creusot, Mâcon and Nevers), where training and research are finely tuned to the economic needs of the regions and their evolutions.
